I second that and would also like to know which officers/directors attended.

I also would like to know that as well? I know we have to make some major changes as a club if we are to survive!
24 dogs in the world hunt,, is that a record? I have never heard of a acha world that small before? I was not able to attend because my sister was getting married. But what is every one else's reason? Economy? incentive?? What?? Location?? Don't be afraid to step up and voice your opinion, because with out the opinions of the members we are going to fail as a club! Our directors need to know why we had a low turn out so that it can get fixed! No one wants to see ACHA fail!

Where is the money going to come from for the pay outs? Will it accumulate all year from the $3.00 per dog hunt fee? Or will it be from the actual entries for the world and little world hunts? Personally I would rather see the ring brought back. That is something that last fore ever and can be shown at any hunt your at. Money for prize will be spent and soon forgotten about from most people except the maybe the winner. Let's see, I won the world hunt in 20-- and a thousand dollars. Or look at this ring grandson I won the world championship in 20--.

I do like the idea of a ring as well, but its whatever will draw more people to our ASSOC that is what we need.
I personally think we need to survey 100 comp hunters and find out what it would take to get them to attend a world hunt? and what it would take for them to attend monthly hunts in their area! The as a a assoc we can decide the best way to help ACHA In return for doing our survey we could give them a voucher to register one dog for free! that would get more reg dogs in and if they have one dog reg they may very well reg all there dogs. and attend some hunts. we need to give each state that has acha clubs a certain number of vouchers based on the amount of hunts in that state. And have the state reps in that state select the people to take the survey! Is this do able? I don't know but I cant for see why it wouldn't be.
Now that's just my idea but I think its the way we need to approach this and help build our club back up! If we don't wanna diminish then we have to make some changes!
I think we have to give people a incentive for making dogs grand and or dual grand as well! Whether that be a jacket, pull over, or gift certificate to a hunting supply shop, or a light or something!
I think our competitors (pkc, chkc, nkc, akc) have all made some serious changes in order to capture the more dogs reg and more hunters attending the hunts. We have to do the same thing. and we have to set a budget and a plan and just give it heck!

I have several things I would like to see changed as we all do but I think we need to find out what the majority of comp hunters have to say. Not just current acha members but even guys who don't hunt in acha hunts now!

we also need to get more coonhunters on this board!!

Associate Director Lesa Watson-Taylor was in attendance. 25 dogs were entered and paid for. I do not know why attendance was so low for the hunt. Weather was great. I believe the economy has a great deal to do with our turn out.
The money incentive type hunt would come from entry fees of dogs entered. No club fees would be involved.
